Discovering the World of Insects

Students will record, observe and discuss the role that insects play in our lives. Through guided exploration, students will be given an opportunity to temporarily capture insects at a local park and record their characteristics and behaviors.

Students explore the habitat, anatomy, and web-building aspects of the spider through puppetry, live observation, and an art activity.

Once Upon a Street

Students conduct hands-on investigation of the shapes, colors, and textures of their neighborhood to design their own building models.  Their exploration of city life continues through a study of building materials, while learning the roles of workers, family, and friends in their community.

Park Pals

Wiggles the Worm, Plantella, and other urban park characters share stories about life in a park habitat. Through art activities and hands-on experiments, students learn about the anatomy, development, and behavior of their new “park pals.”
