High School Students

High school students help CityScience fulfill its mission in a number of ways. Each internship is geared towards the schedule and interests of the student. One third of the student’s time spent at CityScience provides real world office experience while the rest of the time is dedicated to a topic of the student’s choice.  He or she will do necessary research to create an annotated bibliography that provides valuable resources for curriculum writers such as projects, videos, vocabulary words, local experts, etc.

High school students are encouraged to reflect on their science education because they are often the best judges of engaging content. Students with a passion for science have a chance to spark their specific science interest through:

Proposing topics, activities, and field trips for future CityScience projects

Researching engaging videos, content, and social media for classroom use by our coaches

Providing valuable feedback on existing STEM activities taught in lower level grades

Learning office skills in a friendly environment (filing, laminating, organizing, etc.)
